Russellville High School Science Club
Welcome!
Welcome to the Cole R-I Russellville High School Science Club webpage. Better known as RHS STEM Club. This club officially formed in the spring of 2016 with the first official school year and election of officers for the 2016-2017 school year.
The purpose of this club:
1. To better student members’ minds and skills in the areas of science, technology, engineering and music.
2. To build on student members’ current foundation in science in an enjoyable and beneficial manner.
3. To inspire a new passion in areas of science, technology, engineering, and music by the expansion of student members’ knowledge in these areas.
4. To have members advocate for the sciences in their school and community.
Who Can Join?
Eligibility - Membership shall be open to all Russellville High School Students upon payment of the dues and initiation at the annual October meeting.
Dues – Dues shall be $10 per year and shall be used toward the payment of bills for club activities voted upon by club quorum.
Attendance and Dues – All members are required to attend 1 (one) meeting each semester and be paid in full the current years club dues in order to maintain active member status.
Advisors
Advisors of the club there shall be a faculty/staff advisor who shall be a current science faculty member for the school year and a co-advisor of either the science, math, or music department.
Current advisors for the 2016-2017 school year are Mrs. C. Pitman (science) and Mrs. E. Mills (science)
Events
Before the official formation of the club RHS members participated in the 2016 Missouri Society of Professional Engineers 1st Annual Model Bridge Building competition and the Missouri Mathematics and Science Coalition STEM Day at the Capitol.
Student members have voted that the club is to participate in one community orientated service project each year. Current members of the club will vote on each year’s activity at the October Initiation meeting.
